Our work
International Tree Foundation has been inspiring communities to plant, protect and promote trees for the benefit of people and planet since we were founded in 1922. Today, we work around the world with a particular focus on Africa and the UK.
Our work planting and protecting trees
-
Africa Programme
Working with local community groups to plant trees and restore forests, our work delivers holistic reforestation that transforms landscapes and lives.
-
UK Programme
Supporting grassroots community engagement in tree planting, our work brings to life small-scale projects across the country.
Climate change, human activity and rampant deforestation are destroying our fragile ecosystems. Natural disasters like floods, droughts and mudslides are worsening. And the wellbeing, food and water security of millions of people are at risk. But trees offer countless, incredible benefits that sustain life on earth and safeguard our planet's future.
So at ITF, we work with local communities to plant and grow native trees. Together we restore forests, repair nature and protect vital habitats. Our holistic approach transforms landscapes, mitigates natural disasters and builds resilience to climate change. All while providing training, workshops and sustainable jobs that transform lives.
Through tree planting we can restore nature and create enduring impact for wildlife, people and planet.

Plant trees and restore forests today
Can you imagine a world without trees? Neither can we.
Your support today can plant trees, bring forests back to life and help nature recover for people and planet.
“I have learnt so much about trees and their contribution to humanity and the environment as a whole through my recent involvement as a tree nursery worker. I have become more aware about the need to grow trees and I am working closely with my family and other members of my community to grow trees.”
